A fitted radiator cover beneath the window

This piece integrates the radiator into the room by enclosing it within fitted joinery and extending the top into a practical ledge beneath the window.

The result is more architectural than a freestanding cover because the furniture follows the width and proportions of the opening.

The demanding part: fitting around an existing opening

Radiator covers beneath windows need accurate setting out so the top, side panels and ventilation area all sit cleanly within the surrounding wall geometry.

The installation also has to maintain enough clearance around the radiator while keeping the visible gaps and edges controlled.

Ventilation and visual integration

The front panel allows heat to circulate while concealing the radiator itself.

By aligning the cover closely with the window opening and surrounding surfaces, the piece reads as part of the room rather than an added accessory.

The finished result

The completed radiator cover creates a cleaner wall elevation and adds a useful ledge without interrupting the room.
