Design, fitting and craftsmanship details

A full-wall white bookcase combining generous open shelving with discreet low-level storage in a furnished sitting room.

  • Full-wall book and display shelving
  • Low-level enclosed storage
  • White finish with traditional detailing
  • Shelving arranged around the sitting room

A wall devoted to books

This completed library wall brings books and display pieces together in one fitted composition. The white finish and repeated shelf divisions give the collection a clear structure behind the sitting area, while the upper detailing finishes the cabinetry against the room.

Open shelves and hidden storage

Open shelves keep frequently used books within reach. Lower compartments provide space for items that are better stored out of sight; the closer photographs show how these openings sit beneath the main shelving.

For a similar bookcase, shelf spacing, the weight of the collection, door clearance and access around existing furniture are useful starting points for the design.

Planning a fitted library

Share a photograph of your wall, approximate dimensions and the kinds of books or objects you want to store. Form & Frame can discuss the proportions, storage layout and fitting requirements before confirming the project scope.
