Fulham Alcove Units

This Fulham project uses fitted cabinetry within the room's alcoves, combining open shelving above with concealed storage below.

The dark finish gives the units a strong architectural presence while keeping the fireplace and surrounding room as the central composition.

Alcove furniture depends on accurate survey because the surrounding walls, chimney breast, floors and ceilings define every visible junction.

The two sides also need to relate closely to one another so the finished installation feels balanced even when the existing room is not perfectly symmetrical.

The shelving creates dedicated space for books and decorative objects, while the lower cabinets keep everyday storage out of view.

This combination keeps the room practical without making the fitted furniture visually heavy from floor to ceiling.

Fine brass details provide a controlled contrast against the darker cabinetry and help define selected edges and divisions.
