Belgravia Bespoke Floating Basin Shelf

The dark vanity shelf projects from the wall beneath a round white basin. Its simple front edge contrasts with the pale wall finish and leaves the floor area below visually open.

The photograph shows the shelf, basin and wall-mounted tap together. It records a separate bathroom from the decorative-bowl cloakroom and rectangular-basin vanity elsewhere in the Belgravia project.

A deep, dark shelf supports the round white basin and leaves the floor area below open. The grain runs along the surface and front edge, giving the simple rectangular form its main decorative quality. A wall-mounted tap and mirrored cabinet sit above. The open arrangement fits the narrow room without the depth of an enclosed vanity cupboard. The contrast between the circular basin and straight shelf edge is the defining feature.

A bespoke basin shelf needs the basin weight, tap position and waste route confirmed before its support is designed. The finished height should account for the bowl sitting above the surface. Moisture resistance, sealed edges and access to plumbing must be part of the agreed specification, even when the furniture appears visually simple.
